What was the timing of the spit? Is there footage? It seemed like CP had his finger in Rondo's eye, tgen they started trading blows. So my Q is was the spit a reaction to the finger in the eye, or a predicator?

LBJ has always been the reluctant alpha. Hes so good, but theres this lingering lack of confidence a neex to prove himself which frankly makes him more human and admirable. Like after last seasons Pacees series, he was just so happy and relieved to get past them."Whoo, they're a really, really good team. We're happy to get passed them." It was delivered in a manner ofvtotal honesty; LBJ himself doubted that his team could do it. In the Finals game 1, he got in an argument with Steph over a block vs goal tend. Its that continual need to prove himself, despite being the best, that makes him identifiable in a way that really no other All Time great is or was.

And Rondo isnt that kind of a guy. KG, Allen, PP get all the kudos, but really they all just played off of Rondo. Amazingly Rondo is the only player in NBA history who improves EVERY COUNTING STAT in the pkayoffs. Everything is up, except TOs go down. We'll see how it goes but I cant imagine Rondo giving a shit about CP and LBJ being friends, hell he might even have instigated it just to make a point, there are no friends only teammates so WTF are you doing laughing with the enemy pregame. This is a guy who thinks its his duty to beat grade schoolers at connect 4. We'll see, but Im thinking Walton isnt the coach to manage Rondo.
This is a FAN page that relies on its members for content and commentary. So don't be a lurker, be a POSTER, even if it's just a picture of a fat guy eating a hamburger.

Well we as Knick fans know all about throwing away our future.

But the Rockets are really close to the title. The window is now. They wouldnt be sacrificing the future for a chance to be good, they already are... They would be making that sacrifice to make sure they can beat the Warriors. So it isnt exactly like the Boston Nets deal for example.

4 picks is absurd though, especially for a guy who has less than a year left on his deal. If Im Minny Im taking that.

Honestly though.....Butler would just be the true replacement for Ariza. And while Butler is obviously better....do we even see them beating the Warriors with Jimmy? I dunno.

Agreed. If I’m Minnesota, Butler’s bags are already packed. And I’m wishing him well in Houston, although I don’t see Harden, Paul, Butler and Melo co-existing over an extended period of time.

I thought Jimmy was the one who looked like he wanted out, not KAT.

Here’s how the Warriors will break up in 2020:

Draymond Green is definitely not receiving $228 million over five years.

First, Curry.
Then Durant.
And now, Thompson.

I don't have a hate of GS like some do, in fact I really enjoy watching them play. Some think it's bad for the league or hate the style with all the 3 pointers but to me if you reduced them to a 3pt shooting team then you'd be missing out on really excellent fundamental basketball. What one must really notice is that it's a team with 4 ball handlers who all are great passers. You gotta put the word "point" in front of all thier positions and it's crazy. They don't just have the skill they have the will and really enjoy passing. Then on the other end they are a pretty good defensive team, not thier best defense over the course of this dynasty but pretty solid. All of those things exist.......and then you can talk about the 3 pointers

Agreed.

I watched highlights of Thompson’s record-setting night and many of the passes to him were so Magic-like I couldn’t believe it. That’s the mark of two things:

1) Great passing [so true at point guard, point shooting guard, point small forward, point power forward], as you said
and 2) Knowing your teammates, knowing where they’re parked on the court

As a basketball purist, you gotta love it.

Also to note:

Before GS had "4 decent ball handlers," Durant's ball-handling duties was once replaced by a great passing big man in Andrew Bogut for their first championship run with the Curry/Thompson/Green core. Not to mention this GS team also had our ol' boi David Lee for 1 year playing the "part-time role" of Andrew Bogut on the high post as well with Lee's underrated passing ability.

So the greatness of GS's offense was always having 3-4 guys on the floor with the ability to pass in any situation that opposing defenses forced them into.
