We saw something similar happening on a rival forum, but added our twist on it. I think Fury organized it all. After we had the list of sign-ups the draft order was randomly selected and we proceeded with a snake draft with a time limit (12 or 24 hrs) between picks, I believe. I don't know how we were going to determine a winner. If I remember correctly, we sent summaries about how well our team would hypothetically work together as a unit and then contenders were to be determined. Perhaps we should've set up a bracket.

If we got a bracket going and a poll for each matchup and had the forum vote on each...... That would be fucking insane lol.

Yeah, instead of a NCAA tourney-style bracket we could have everyone go head-to-head with each other at least once and debate their team before being judged. I'm not sure anyone would have the time to do this until summer, though.

The problem of this thread was once we were done drafting we had no judges, so it just shauled. One reason being it proved to be too difficult to compare players of different eras most of us haven't seen in action. So if we want to do another NYKFP draft, we should concentrate on active players or on players of the last ... years (10? 20?), and set up the judgement process beforehand. I like the idea of a bracket.

I think anybody who played after 1990 is fair game. It's hard when you're talking about people like Jerry West or Maravich...... Or how dominant would people like Bill Russell or Wilt Chamberlain be when a some of their success was due to lack of size on opposing teams.......

But when you're talking about players post 90 they would all have the same production.

No way Bob. Hakeem in today's NBA is a center even more so than in the 80's and 90's. Today, we typically see power forwards playing center by default.

Pretty sure I was the only person that put forth an opinion of any sort that didn't have a team. Oh and watcher it looks like.

Bump.

Well, with one game remaining on the regular season, we may as well get a head start on this heading into another long, hot summer. Who's with me? :D
