Kristaps Porzingis skipped exit meetings with New York Knicks management due to frustration over what he perceives as the dysfunction and drama surrounding the organization, team sources told ESPN.com.
Porzingis, according to team sources, is frustrated with the Knicks' lack of direction. The team missed out on the playoffs for the fourth straight season.
Porzingis was drafted fourth overall out of Latvia by the Knicks in the 2015 NBA draft. He averaged 18.1 points and 7.3 rebounds per game this season

Love that KP isnt drinking the Phil Jackson Kool Aid...
Team is an absolute mess, and Phil is to blame.
Does anyone with a Bball IQ over 40 really think that the Jackson,Rambis ,Hornacek triangle has a prayer?

Porzingis in February discussed one issue plaguing the team when he said that there was confusion from "top to bottom" due to multiple changes in schemes by head coach Jeff Hornacek and the coaching staff over the course of the season. He said there was "a lot of stuff that's not clear" to players and that it was "hard to play like that."
The team started the season running an offense that de-emphasized triangle sets but the club began to run triangle sets more frequently after the All-Star break. They also changed defensive schemes multiple times under associate head coach Kurt Rambis.

I guess he's in Melo's corner? I guess I agree with him, but I don't really like making noise publicly.

Kristaps needs to call up Dolan and tell him if Phil stays he doesnt re sign. If it isnt clear enough. Honestly with the way Knicks management is I dont think they get the message ever.

Kid's got balls.
“I’m still chasing a championship, I’m just chasing it here in New York,’’ Anthony said. “I’ve come to peace with that. I’m doing it in my own way on my own time.”

I'm in agreement with everyone that supports KP doing this.
KP is realizing..........."Ok Phil, you may be ready to run Carmelo out of town, BUT I'M THE GOD DAMN FUTURE FRANCHISE. FUCK WITH ME, AND I'LL MAKE SURE YOU GET FIRED."
That is what KP did by skipping exit meetings, he basically laid the ground rules.............KP is the franchise player now, and Phil's job is dependent on him now.

Wouldn't it be something if the players protest getting Phil fired?
I can see half of the team being for Phil since he brought them in, I guess.

The only player I see being on Phil's side is probably Sasha. I don't think the "Phil-signed" players have much loyalty to Phil as Sasha does, considering their previous history as player and coach.Geolink wrote:Wouldn't it be something if the players protest getting Phil fired?

Not even Lance Thomas can side with Phil in this fiasco, and "Team Phil" has always supported Lance.

Actually guys, we may have found the TRUE REASON Porzingis blew off Phil's exit meeting.......and it isn't JUST ABOUT Carmelo
Very insulting that AFTER Phil knocks out his "soon-to-be-former" star player, Phil even goes for another jab at his future star player@Al Iannazzone
Interesting to note: Today Phil said that Porzingis isn't ready to be "The Man" and he said KP isn't untouchable.

I did catch Phil alluding to KP not being untouchable while the conference was in the background... glad my hearing is still good... WTF, man.

KPs 21, the other two are seasoned. This is being way overblown. Right now Phil probably thinks this is awesome. Bout time KP stood up for something. They'll talk and by next year Phil will be using this to his advantage. But first he'll have to make KP the most powerful voice in the locker room and thats why he's kicking Melo out in the first place. Better get Rose outta here too or we might find KP in a Latvian gang bang video by the end of the summer.shakespeare wrote:Phil needs to grow up.
