The man is a mental "wuss." His psychosomatic hypochondria goes back to the latter years of his Orlando career and the beginning of his Houston days. Anyone remember about 5 years ago when he was about ready to quit the NBA for no real reason? Depression perhaps? Now don't get me wrong, I sympathize with depression sacks... but we are judging "NBA Players" here, not people per se. Right now, his "mental wussness" has him sitting out of tonight's game. Why? "TIRED." Seriously - his knees are fine, he has no pain. He is just "exhausted" from playing so much. When have you ever seen a player with so much trepidation regarding his playing time, counting every single minute he is on the court? Or how about turning down the coach when he calls your number with 5 minutes to go?

Again, his knee problem is real... and YES, he needs to play himself into game-shape, but this is unprecedented. No athlete I know has ever been this apprehensive. Your pride, grit, and balls get you through the physical aspect of the game. This is a contract year for him, and he is playing in the mecca of basketball. If that isn't enough to light your ass up and get you going on pure adrenaline, you can go sign elsewhere this summer.

What Knick fans are afraid to admit is how impatient they are with a team that has no chance to do anything the rest of the season. If there is money left over, T-Mac will be signed for cheap. this is just a glorified rehab assignment for Tmac. He's fully focused on his knees and how he's feeling day to day, its nothin to do with the knicks we're just the guys he's suitin up for to test his knees for next season. I'm just glad all these games are meaningless exhibition games because we're going nowehere or some fans would be pissed.
I can't believe he's sitting out because of exhaustion- limit your minutes fine, but sit out completely? i'm sure his teammates appreciated that. From a fans perspective when he left the game at the half after brickin his final shot because he didn't have it. And bricked the game tying 3pointer to the celtics when he said and i quote 'i wasn't that confident i was gonna hit it anyway' great! why did you take the shot then?! If anyone deserves to rest its Lee- he's playin 40mins a night as the focal point of the offense against guys twice his size.

I have absolutely no problem with it. This team aint winning shit this year and if anything he gave the rest of the team a game to gel without him. We won tonight so I'm not complaining. The dude came off microfracture surgery and if he's serious about playing for whats left after a possible 2max FA summer then the guy can rest those knees anytime he wants to. We know what T-mac can do, and we know that even at his worst he's gonna still be a really good starter. I think he really wants to play here, I want him here and I want him here healthy. So I got no problem with it.

Oh please, Shaq has pulled that crap (you know, his annual mid-season breaks) just about every single season and no one thinks anything of it. T Mac is really trying to work himself back into game shape. I don't think it's a big deal that he chose to sit out.

So was TMac supposed to come to NY after sitting out the entire year after microfracture surgery and hit the game winner everynight with 40 a game? Get real guys. The season was over as soon as Jeffries contract was moved. That was the season's goal.

I think some are forgetting how serious a microfracture surgery is. Remember Allan Houston? Every summer he'd seemingly tease us about how he feel's 100% just to disappoint us come November. Truth of the matter is, recovery from this surgery takes time and even ends a lot of careers. Even if you feel 100% during running drills and scrimmages, it's a different story when you lace 'em up and give it a go at NBA speed.

I'm okay with the somewhat slow, gradual process. It actually may work to our advantage. Think about it: if Tmac came in and started looking like the Tmac of old, his value this summer would sky-rocket. If he comes along slowly leading into the summer, his value remains relatively low. It's a win-win situation if you ask me.

LeBron James is healthy enough to play if he absolutely necessary. But with James banged up and the Cavs holding a comfortable lead for the best record in the league, Mike Brown will rest James for the second straight game on Monday night versus the Spurs.

With James sitting out Monday's game, he will be able to get six consecutive days of rest.

"I'm good, I'm good," James said when asked about his right ankle.

I've taken his career into context projecting the claim of "his wussness" - not merely a few games as a Knick. Shaq and Lebron are on a winning team that is just leaving the league in the dust right now - if they want to take a few "personal days" they have earned it as far as I'm concerned, and fans who have a winning team would embrace it to see what their bench guys can do with extended minutes (Cavs WON tonight, BTW). Lebron is ACTUALLY HURT - perhaps not to the extent where he couldn't force himself to play, but he has an INJURY. T-Mac wants to sit because he is TIRED. Listen man, you can play a 48 minute game, and all you need is a good 3 to 4 hours of "vegging-out" and a restful night's sleep, and you can get up and play the next day fully rested. My point is I have heard T-Mac sit there after games and focus on his knees, his being out of shape, and a few times hinting and D'Antoni played him "too much." This whiny crap is HIS M.O. What, did all of you just start following B-Ball just a few years ago? Go back to his early days. He was an awful sourpuss who would crumble over just about any criticism he got. When the media began questioning whether the team was better without him, he took it to heart and contemplated leaving the game all together.

All I am asking is that he play his 20-30 min, tough it out for the final 5 min of games, and SHUT THE HELL UP! Stop whining to the media - progress into playing shape... but if I hear him recite how many minutes he played that night again I will club both his knees!!!! And I mean that with absolute charity, of course.

To those who have smitten me with words! - I have patience and understand T-Mac has a ways to go, but I am simply making a statement about what I have perceived his wussy attitude to be thus far.

That's the nature of microfracture. K-Mart gave an interview and revealed that there were some days he felt perfect and then the next he could barely move his knee. It doesn't help that T-Mac has a prior rep of being a bit brittle and unable to play through small injuries, but in this case, he's right to bow out for a game or two. Give the guy a chance, this is low risk. Like what, we'll miss the playoffs if T-Mac sits out?

Give him a chance to heal up, get fully healthy, he'll be fine. With his just length and savy, he's looked pretty good. When he gets his lift and speed back he'll be pretty good, not 100% as in his prime for the Magic, but close enough for us.

Actually, I like him better with slightly diminished skills as it forces him to focus on fundamentals. I'd like for him to re-sign for the vet's minimum, get into training camp to work out the ball movement issues and get a real team identity going.
