Just read the new article. Very nice. It would be LBJish of me to leave my favorite team after all this time. This was a reminder as to why I cheer for the orange and blue!

Plus, we have a picture of a Knick on the frontpage now. :cheer:
"It is [The Knicks] that created us. [The Knicks] that connects us. [The Knicks] that pulls us. That guides us. That drives us. It is [The Knicks] that defines us. [The Knicks] that binds us...[Knicks]."

Excellent read, great vocabulary, and great points. Could have done without some of the choice language - it is a better quality article without that. Otherwise

Isa, you put into words what I've been trying to for a long time. I've not responded to a large number of threads in my time here because I didn't think it was my place to share this harsh reality. Being a younger member, I did not want to address the older fans who watched the great Knick teams and were already upset with a recent loss or failed draft pick/trade. I just held out hope the team would improve and make the playoffs before I was an adult, so I'd no longer fear the cliche "You're just a kid, what do you know?" remarks. I do believe things are looking up.

I'll tell you, though, when LeBron said he was taking his talents to South Beach I was on the verge of losing it. For the first time I felt as if I knew what it must have been like to be the mid-90's Knick diehard rooting against Jordan. However, I'm hoping people will take it easy with the idea that this off-season's events mean the rejuvenation of Knicks-Bulls and/or Knicks-Heat rivalries. The Knicks are nowhere as good as they were back then and it's unfair to set such high expectations for essentially a brand new team. If we compare every team to the ones Ewing led, we'll never be satisfied. We can't let the game pass us by.

Undoubtedly your best work, Isa. Bravo.

Helluva read, Soulstar, and pretty much sums up the position that my brain takes over my heart, at times. I cannot begin to tell you how many times I've been told that "Don you are more of a 90s Knick fan than a Knick fan."

I wouldn't change it for the world though.

Great job of pointing out something that I am not sure a lot of the younger members realize....just how much the "90's" Knicks influenced the way basketball is played today. If you think back...watching the Rockets final (with a small window in the corner showing a white Bronco driving down the highway) basketball has not been the same.

It truly did match the spirit of the town. Play or watch at Rucker's or the Cage, where ever and you still see the real New York style b-ball :)
