Why did 80's fashion ever happen? And can we erase it completely from the history books?

Why did Voltron wait so long before he pulled out his sword even though he knew that's the only way he has ever beaten an enemy?

What does an injury bug look like? Can it fly? Where does it live?

Do you realize how long it will take for this nonsequitor thread to actually become the longest thread ever? If the one over at funender.com is like 600 pages long, and who knows if that one's even the longest... I suspect that this thread will probably have to literally reach 1000 pages before it can even be considered. Not that it's not do-able, by my God man. It's a HUGE undertaking, even with a thriving forum.

Would we really want to? I mean, think a minute about 80's fashion... particularly the pink tights and poofy hair, the friendship bracelets and Air Jordans, the combat boots, the patch-covered jean jackets and ripped jeans with dangling threads... The mullets... leopardskin tights... leather pants... It's probably the most colorful, gaudy and decorative decade as far as fashion is concerned.Knicks1234 wrote:Why did 80's fashion ever happen? I suspect that there are delineations of lateness. Like this:Krist0f wrote:How much is too much?
Does it ever matter how late you are when you are late?
1. a little late (5-10 min.)
2. somewhat late (10-20 min.)
3. late (30 minutes)
4. really late (also: so late) (45-60 min.)
5. extremely late (1 hour +)
6. never showed up (which I suppose doesn't qualify as late)

I couldn't help but manage a smile when I saw your descriptions of the 80's.MLintzenich wrote:

It seems every recording artist back then had colorful hair and spikes.
For some reason, when I think of the 1980's, I think of Cyndi lauper and the Bangles.
Probably from watching VH1.com's "I love the 80s"
They say history repeats itself but it will be hard pressed to out-do the style of the 1980's.

When I saw that thread, I was in amazement. We may never see 1000 pages, but then again...MLintzenich wrote:Do you realize how long it will take for this nonsequitor thread to actually become the longest thread ever? Now I see how you are able to produce thought provoking lyrics, you have it all figured out and broken down into a science. Not bad at all.MLintzenich wrote: I suspect that there are delineations of lateness. Like this:

From now on, I am "somewhat late"

I can imagine that without everything else, families and people actually talked more and discussed things more. Communities were just that, communities...MLintzenich wrote: We truly lived.
It would seem as if we may have been lesser intelligent to a certain degree but when you take the average family and take away things such as TV's, radio's, cellphone's, etc.
It would seem as if they would be forced to "inter-act" or as you eloquenty put it, "truly live"
Someone needs to write a book about an aging mother who recalls the past childhood she inhabited and see's the "loss" of the family of today and goes on this exhibition to rid her household of everything that she feels takes away from her family. It would spark interest, I do believe
hmmm
