Books are a separate history. No one knows the plot.

WPJ bumped it and I thought this trailer was actually new.

nazr, it's a different plot and Disney pretty much took a dump on everything that was licensed as star wars. Almost everything, even that was licensed by Lucas, isn't officially cannon anymore because they wanted to go in a different direction. The 6 movies, the animated show The Clone Wars, and a couple of the newer videogames and some misc books are still cannon. So it's a complete mystery. The rest of the stuff is called "Star Wars Legends" so the new movies don't have to be consistent with it.

There is a long list of things that I cannot control geeking out over. Star Wars is not on that list.

so we can expect the reboot treatment? the basic elements are kept, but the original story goes in a different direction? best to forget that episodes 1-3 ever happened.

IMO they will make the easy changes that give a new veneer to the original story. search for the father, only now the gender will be switched and it will be a girl searching for her father.

All I know is that of all the original characters, the only one they killed off in the books was Chewie. Fuck that shit. Disney better not go and fuck up like "oh we need to add real tragedy" and kill off one of the core six. This isn't GoT.

Ive cried twice in my life while watching a movie

1-when obiwan got cut in half by Darth Vader
2-when ET was being held by the scientists and almost died

If they kill either Hans Solo or Chewie in this movie I might go apeshit....at 37 yrs old.
