The Clippers and Pistons have agreed on a deal to trade Blake Griffin for Tobias Harris, Avery Bradley, Boban Marjanovic, a first-round and a second-round draft pick, league sources tell ESPN.

good move by the clipps.

blake is great but he isnt close to great enough to justify that price tag for a team who can barely make the playoffs.
after a quick stop to the lottery this summer, they'll have enough cap space to sign lebron and another big name or keep bradley.

Reading up on all the Clippers trade gossip after this Blake trade was announced...............fucking Steve Balmer and Clippers management is pulling a 2010-James Dolan/Donnie Walsh with this approved deal, they're entering themselves into the Lebron 2018 Sweepstakes ALL-IN. Hell, they even got Gallinari on the roster to make this all identical to how the Knicks attempted it back in 2010.

Balmer hasn't been watching what the Knicks has done this past decade, hasn't he?

Why in the world did Detroit agree to this deal?

Blake Griffin is hella overrated.

According to a report from Vincent Goodwill of NBC Sports Chicago, the Bulls will be trading the forward to the New Orleans Pelicans in exchange for a first round pick and center Omer Asik.

Nikola mirotic to pelicans

Depending on the pick protection (as always) that makes a lot of sense. AD has been horrible with centers other than Cousins and they are interested in resigning Boogie, so any move now had to be for a player that can fill in now, but also fit with Boogie once he comes back. The Pelicans also needed a stretch four since Anderson left, so Mirotic fits the bill on multiple points.

Edit: apparently it has fallen apart for now.

New Orleans and Chicago had a deal for Nikola Mirotic, but it's fallen apart for now, league sources tell ESPN.

Mirotic to the Pelicans is a done deal now, after the Pelicans agreed to guarantee the second year. http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/2228 ... cago-bulls

That deal should also help our second-rounder from Chicago to get better again.

Mirotic. Fits the modern game, comes at a lower price (the difference this season are 8 mill) and was a real difference maker for the Bulls play, while Kanter despite his rebounding has a negative offensive and defensive plus-minus. So as I have said multiple times, I don't think you can get a first-rounder and expirings for Kanter (and we can't afford to take back bad contracts). Trading O'Quinn or Hernangomez is still the likeliest move. I would like to keep both, but expect one to go if there is a good market for centers. It's a bit of a shame, because O'Quinn could be a good starter for us and a real help off the bench for a contender, but his production/price-ratio is very good and should have value around the league. Even if we decide to trade Willy I would like to keep him as an asset for the draft to move where we want.

My favorite would probably be to trade Kanter for a wing we want going forward, but in his price range are not many we would want and whose teams are interested in a center, so if I should bet I'm betting on O'Quinn being the one that's traded.

BTW: saying this hurts, because I think Kanter seen in isolation is IMO the better player than Mirotic, but the modern game has evolved a bit away from his strength and the market seems to be more after a guy like Mirotic.

Aaron Gordon Trade Rumors: Magic Reportedly Evaluating Market for PF

Hmm would you trade your first rounder for him? Y'all don't wanna tank anyway so for me the answer would be yes. 18&8 athletic and can now spread the floor. You put him with KP after he hits them steroids this summer :hmm:
Could make it top 3 protected

It's where this league is going.
