NOW I'm impressed with Spoelstra

Miami is 8-7 right now, which isn't that great but I really like the way he has Miami playing right now. Napier looks like a more than competent point guard running the offense. I think being over .500 with this team is more impressive than winning the championships with Lebron.

Who exactly have they beaten while Wade has been out??? Because it's not like the Heat ain't an above average team when Wade is healthy.

What I'm trying to say is, Fuck Spoelstra!!!

team looks pretty disciplined out there and he has the support from upper management and his star players.

Spo did lose Lebron but getting Deng as a consolation should earn them a .500 record or better.

plus - i think a healthy Wade this year...i think they will make serious noise in the playoffs.
"I'm cool with whatever. I'll just keep eating my bread, sipping my soup and serving my time. But the chicken is going to lay some more eggs one day." - Oakley as a veteran, on being benched in favor of teenagers.

"He's a lawyer, not a GM. You can't spend $250 million on contracts and not make the playoffs. Vince Carter's mom runs that team. She's the GM." - Oakley on Toronto GM Glen Grunwald.

I hate the Heat, but I've never hated Spolestra at all. The guy impressed me whenever he was able to get D-Wade and a bag of scrubs to the 1st round of the playoffs for two years straight before the "Big 3" was formed in 2010.

That being said, the guy is no different of an offensive mind than most of the league........there is no exact defined offensive system you can give his Heat teams besides give the ball to Wade OR Lebron and do work.

Same. I recall a previous thread where forum members argued that it's easy to win games when you're coaching the best players in the league [and I agreed], but, at the same time, I insisted that Spoelstra had always struck me as someone who played to his team's strengths, taught points of emphasis and the importance of creating/defending passing angles.

Erik Spoelstra Is the Best Coach in the NBA This Year

If Miami makes the playoffs, he's definitely coach of the year, in my humble opinion.

Hard to believe I was praising Napier in the NBA 3 years ago, is he even in the league now? Anyways good memory shakes. Spoelstra is a really strong candidate, I'd like to see Miami finish ahead of Chicago.

Good to see Spoelstra's coaching job awarded this season.
