let severe retardation of this board in the "Duhon vs. Nate" argument continue...
:whacky:

this is worse than the Fred Jones love that still rolls on, except this is an actual no-sarcasm thing
D'Antoni - the future former coach of the New York Knicks. 2011 is my guess.

Sometimes, you don't really appreciate greatness until it's gone.

You know, you're right. I've come to appreciate Stephon a lot more since he's been gone.

You are so right...

The Celts were done long before Nate got there. That trade was sheer desperation by Ainge. KG is a shadow of his former self, Perk and BB are not playing well, everyone is not as productive as they once were, except for Rondo; he's the only guy that has picked up his game. The expiration date on their big 3 has arrived sooner than expected.

I think they blow it up ASAP. Ray's deal expires this summer. KG unfortunately has nearly $40M due the next 2 seasons, that will be a cap killer for them. I think they'll try to move Perk and BB, perhaps even Pierce to get some value.

Robinson leads celtics over pistons.

Postby thewatcher on March 3, 2010, 6:20 am

“That’s exactly what we need from Nate,” said Boston coach Doc Rivers.
“We want to wind him up and let him go. I felt like we had to get him comfortable, so we put in one of the Knicks’ plays and ran that for him in the fourth quarter. The other four guys were uncomfortable, but Nate was comfortable and he hit the shots.”

Detroit (21-39) led 77-73 early in the fourth, but three 3-pointers by Robinson helped Boston go on a game-winning 16-4 run
.

“This was big for us,” said Ray Allen(notes), who scored 18 points. “Nate was big. He can get to the basket, he can hit the mid-range stuff and he can get the 3-ball. That helps us a lot with the second unit.”

The Pistons have lost four in a row despite leading in the fourth quarter of every game.

“We played a great game for three quarters, but they really hurt us with the 3-pointers at the start of the fourth,” Pistons coach John Kuester said. “We’ve got to get better at closing out games.”

Paul Pierce(notes) committed a foul with 1:13 left and the Celtics leading 95-90, and rookie Jonas Jerebko(notes) went to the free throw line. After protests from the Celtics, though, the officials sent Ben Wallace(notes) to the line, and he missed both shots.

Wallace, who left moments later with a minor knee injury, is now 2 for 20 from the line in Detroit’s last five games.

“Ben has been in this league for a long time, and he knows that he has to work his way out of this,” Kuester said. “It’s certainly not a question of effort—he’s the first one in the gym and the last one out. He hits 70 percent in practice, but he’s got to go to the line and make them in the games.”

Boston had missed a chance to take control of the game in the third quarter. Rasheed Wallace(notes) badly missed a short jumper that would have given the Celtics a double-digit lead, and his former team responded with a 19-8 run that gave it a 75-72 advantage going into the fourth.

“We had a great chance, but you can’t miss opportunities against a team like the Celtics,” Pistons guard Ben Gordon(notes) said. “We knew they were going to have a strong finish, especially after what happened in their last game.”

NOTES: Pierce returned after missing three games with a sprained thumb, but Kendrick Perkins(notes) (flu-like symptoms) missed the game. … Wallace is listed as day-to-day with a sore knee. … Jerebko scored 16 points on his 23rd birthday after being named the Eastern Conference’s rookie of the month for February. … Rajon Rondo(notes) finished with 11 assists, and has now reached double figures in seventh straight games, the longest streak by a Celtic since Tiny Archibald did it in seven straight games in 1981-82.

no one else is amused at the Celtic's running Knick play's just for Nate?? :D I honestly dont know where his crazy journey will take him, but he has more than his foot in the door on an excellent team now, and that simple fact reflects the great distance traveled from the doghouse days in NY.

He deserves this opportunity to not be under the microscope. To play with winners that will channel their drive and focus into his game. This is only going to help him. He's in a better place now.

he had better numbers than that when he was here, but did we win games? See, its all about channeling your drive to win in the right direction. Too bad when he was here he was all over the place. And didnt you notice, players only realize the right thing to do when they get traded.. LOL!!

"Nate is pure energy, man, I said it from Day 1, since he has been here. We hated to lose E. House but not only is [Robinson] pure energy, he's good energy. He's almost like fresh air. He fits right in with our team, he's unselfish. We all knew he could play, but his personality is what stands out most about him - very respectable person, very high energy. And, like I said, I love the way he plays. We love the way he comes out and just puts it all on the floor.''

“He’s the reason, really, why we turned the corner like we did,’’ Garnett said of Robinson’s performance. “I think he took the momentum himself and just ran with it. We were talking about the possibilities of what this could be with him, especially with he and [Rajon] Rondo on the court. Defensively, that’s going to be hell for opposing guards bringing the ball up. So, Nate’s a blessing in disguise for our team and we’re glad to have him.’’

Apparently, D'Antoni didn't like that... :?

Dantoni should have tried to mold him instead of berate, embarass and bench him

what did Doc Rivers do? Exactly what D'Antoni did, let him play. The difference is Nate doesn't respond well when he's criticized. And when he got traded he learned to just shut up and follow what his coach says.. And for God's sake, he's playing along 3 or 4 All-stars!

What Kevin Garnett said really doesn't matter because we already knew he was a high energy guy. The question was is he a starting point guard, or even a starting player, and the answer is clearly no. All he's doing is coming off of the bench and doing what we knew he could do already. And they lost to the Nets, so he hasn't changed their season around or anything.
Jordan Hill was terrible. I can admit that now.
