what is everyones thoughts on Mitchell Robinson? We all know about the western kentucky situation he got himself into...but feel like his talent is a lot higher than his projection states since he didnt play this year.

if we can trade into the late 1st...i would consider it. 7'1 in shoes with a 7'4 wingspan at 233-pounds as of last year. He moves very fluid on the court...if the coaching staff really wants a project to work on..i'd like to see what he can do defensively.

-Averaged 20 rebounds per-40 minutes in the EYBL, best in the competition's history.
-Quick off his feet as a shot blocker. Led the EYBL in both blocks per-game and per-40. Second best shot-blocker in EYBL history.

overall i dont know how he fits with us but talent is talent and you he has tools you can't teach.

Robinson is talented, a good guy to develop. The rumor is that he has a promise from the Lakers.

Thanks for the link to Frazier's combine highlights, great footwork and anticipation, bouncy. Love how he snatched that crosscourt pass with 2 hands.

A lesser known project big, Ray Spalding from Louisville, 6'10" with nearly 7'5" wingspan; a defensive specialist/rim runner. Needs to get stronger, polish his ft and jumper skills but a capable passer and rebounder, switches onto guards pretty well. Likely a late 2nd rounder, maybe UDFA.

something to lookat tho....Vanderbilt can't shoot BUT....his per 40 numbers is 13/18/2/2/1

the kid has something special there if he finds a way to stay healthy.

I'd love to get Vanderbilt at 37.

Could be there for us. Gotta like his D, rebounding, passing and length. Makes a big impact in short minutes, too. If we can get him at #36, then we should opt for a more dynamic, high ceiling player with the #9.

Look at the success that the Celts had getting a Iso-heavy questionable motor player like Tatum; he elevated his defense, helped them morph into a contender way ahead of schedule.

Gordon getting hurt was the best thing that could happen to Tatum.

Tatum did the one thing that he needed to do to be successful. Hit the 3.

everything openned up after that addition to his game.

plus he defends the 2...when most saw him as a 3/4(like i did)

hence why i think Miles is also a 2...he just needs to fix his handle and release point and he will be aproblem.

We're not in the market for a PG but this landry shamet is a sleeper. 6'4" with 7' wingspan, shot 44% from 3 with volume, solid playmaker at 5.2 apg, plus a 42" max vert, a smart player, too.

yeh shamet is weird...he has tools and is good offensively when i watched WS games..i couldnt help but be underwhelmed with him on defense.

Okogie/Frazier/Vanderbilt are the guys I'm looking at after the 9.

And I doubt any of them are gonna be there at 37

All excellent choices in that 20-30 range, they've improved their stock; sure hope Perry is working on a deal to get us that extra pick.

At 37, if all 3 are off the board, then I like Kevin Hervey, Justin Jackson, Gary Clark or the best project player available.

in my mind if you can't guard 2 positions or feel ur not a 20 ppg scorer its not gonna happen.

I like him at 9, I want Perry to land that #20-30 pick via trade to get Frazier. Still wobbling on the #36, but a rebounder with shooting skills like Alize, Justin, Clark, JV etc a combo 3/4 with some size/ability to set screens quickly is the fit.

Me too. Knox will take a little longer, but I see some big things from this kid in 3 years.

Knox is still just 18, while MPJ is 19, Mikal is 21. Using the #9 for an upside talent makes sense. Use the #36 for a high floor type.

knox says all the right things..he wants to be a 3..wants to get his handle better and be a main facilitator in the next level.

can he do those things? talent wise yes.
will he? not sure

i'd have to know his commitment to his body and game...before taking that stride.

really hard being excited for a kid that doesnt rebound/defend/pass at any capacity idc how young he is.

eh being 19 and that size athleticism combo. you almost have to take the risk.

there are a lot more guys who fail with those tools than succeed if you really think about it.

again it has to do with his mental make up..which is why i can see Perry calling Knox's dad to really see the kid behind the player a bit more.
