NYKFP Mock Lottery Competition 2008

Postby Naan » June 25, 2008, 1:12 pm

Didn't see this up. Credit to rtn393 for starting this and the providing the following template.

This is the fourth annual NYKFP Mock Lottery Competition. Post your prediction of picks 1-14 using the template below. Up for grabs are bragging rights. For the Knicks, our future is on the line (dramatic music and facial expressions ensue). I will judge on Friday morning (5 hours ahead of EST). The results will be posted at the end of the thread.

Correctly determining New York's selection will garner you an additional 10 points.

Will you take home the ego boost? I'll begin with my picks.

1) Chicago - Derrick Rose +14
2) Miami - Michael Beasley +14
3) Minnesota - O.J. Mayo +14
4) Seattle - Eric Gordon +11
5) Memphis - Kevin Love +14
6) New York - Danilo Gallinari +24
7) Los Angeles - Russell Westbrook +11
8) Milwaukee - Jerryd Bayless +11
9) Charlotee - Brook Lopez +13
10) New Jersey - DeAndre Jordan +0
11) Indiana - D.J. Augustin +12
12) Sacramento - Anthony Randolph +12
13) Portland - Joe Alexander +9
14) Golden State - Marreese Speights +0

Total: 159

You may edit your selections (using the 'edit' button on the bottom right corner of your post) until 7:00 PM ET on the night of the draft. Picks are based off where the player is chosen, not which team drafts the player, so do not worry about trades. Use caution, though, as some teams may be unable to trade up or down and can end up drafting a player that may not be the best available (Miami with Mayo instead of Beasley, for example).

Scoring: The scoring system used by rtn393 is based on the nba.com system, which places greater emphasis on quantity than on order. If you guess a pick exactly right, you recieve 14 points. If you are off by one position, you recieve 13, off by two, 12, and so on. However, if the player you select does not appear in the lottery at all, you recieve zero points. Last year, Cadi (2007 champion and record holder for total points) had only 1 selection fall out of the lottery.

Previous Results:

2007:
Champion - Cadi: 179

2006:

Champion - joeyk24k: 150

2005:

Champion - FuryRealm25: 139

Good luck and happy drafting to the Knicks.

Im with ya on the first 7, but where's Alexander?? Im praying seattle 's makes a mistake. ESPN and others are reporting that Arthur has a worrysome kidney condition and is dropping fast. So are the thin man A Randolph and DeAndre Jordan. The Lopez twins' stock is rising.

^ We may not end up with the sixth pick. You gave a prime example of the caution I mentioned earlier with the teams not being a concern, only the selection mattering.
