I was surprisingly OK with that. I don't think I would have been if we hadn't won the title but since we did I pretty much decided that 'Melo had gotten us there and it was time for him to go to the NBA & get his reward.

The two worst moments of my life (as a sports fan) were the Knicks losing to Houston after being up 3-2 in the finals and Syracuse losing the '87 championship. All they had to do was hit the friggin' free throws ... And now that I live here it seems like I'm subjected to seeing Keith Smart hit that corner jumper on at least a monthly basis. The '96 game was different. Even though we led in the 2nd half it would've been a fluke - KU was the better team.

I know this is off topic but the Knicks against Houston and Boston in 86 were deffinitely the worst to me--though the twin tragedies of the Cubs and Bosox this year was harsh.

Look at the NBA Free Agency... large amount of SJU's in there, does that tell you maybe they can't handle the transition, or few can.

Tonight was a good night for me in college sports. Tech wins by 51 in basketball, Kansas State, my second team and father's alma mater blew out the #1 ranked Sooners 35-7 in the Big XII football championship, and LSU walked over UGAy to win the SEC title.

The BCS can go take a dump now.

GT rules, and will rule all season.

I started watching them more closely when a kid from my neighbourhood, Jim Nyström, went to join their team. He's not getting any PT, so instead I have to follow the whole team. And coach Hewitt is definitely helping me along. He makes the guys stand up as a team and work together, and the results are awesome!!!

Tenesee might not be the best of teams (understatement), but check out this:

94-43 win for GT! 11 of 12 players played 12 min or more! all scored, and six scored double digits!
7-0 this season baby!

Hey Stevo,

I am a huge Longhorn fan.

I think they are clearly deeper this year, and may be better without TJ.

He got them a few wins last year by controlling the ball in the last 4 minutes. But- he didn't score really well the other 36, and he had a tendency to slow the ball down too often, verses this year's team.

Tucker is quick a freshmen, and Taylor is a big plus at the "quazi-point", who can light up the scoreboard during his minutes.

We'll see on Tuesday- if Texas takes out Arizona easily in the Garden.

Wish I could be there.

Yeah Bunneyman, apparantly we do look better this year. I haven't been able to catch a game yet because they don't show too many of them in Los Angeles. But I've read the recaps and looked at the box.

I'll be at the Knicks-Lakers game tomorrow night so I'll miss the UT game which kind of sucks since I know we're gonna get mopped up by the Lakers anyway. We gotta seek revenge on those punk-ass Wildcats. Yeah I just want to see some of the new guys, see what they look like and how they play.

Yep, things are going quite bonkers down here right, with LSU pretty much playing a home game for the National Championship...

St Johns

when Hattan was on the team they reminded me of the NY Yankees... just when you thought the game was lost they would pull an amazing comeback. Great stuff

I hope they dont hire matt doherty though. They dont need another coach that is not popular with their players.

They need to look at Mark Jackson/ Chris Mullin or another St Johns alum as their coach.

Rutgers takes down Providence at the RAC on a 3 from 6' 10" Herve Lamizana with .04 on the clock 75 - 74 to bring the Scarlet Knights all the way back and deliver their first Conference win of the season. Bring on Pitt :D
