Add me to those that see no sense in stretching Noah. Give him the amount of playing time that he earns. Be honest with him. If he shows that he is an asset, play him. If he deserves no playing time, dun't play him. If he objects to getting eighteen million to sit and needs to compete he can take a DISCOUNT buyout. If he can't play fer shit, sit him. If he can't deal with that and pouts, send him home.

Its not going to happen. They've severed all ties and I imagine are only in contact via his agent. Tge question they're asking themselves is how much is Noah willing to leave on the table for a chance to play somewhere else My guess is that the Knicks have been clear that they are happy to wait until next season to waive and stretch, or even trade him as an expiring.

Totally fine with me. Dont see any need to stretch him.Buy him out at a discount or sit him. When he could have worked his way into the lineup, he was out for a weed suspension. He contributed nothing at great cost. So wish the Knicks had foregone the Derrick Rose experiment and kept Lopez's cheap contract

You guys do realize when you "buy out" a player before their final year of their contract, the waived contract is automatically stretched, right?

That's true just for the actual payments. You have a right to choose whether a contract gets stretched for cap purposes.

heard ESPN mentioning him going to the Lakers if waived

which i can see happening but i could also see him going to the Bucks......which would be a great spot for him.

any team that has a dynamic 4 man and a pick and roll 5 would do well with Noah...can even see him help the Warriors.

If the buyout is for less than the original amount, does the cap hit reflect that?

Sure. It'll be deducted over the two years remaining. Means, if we stretch you can divide the money left on the table through 6 tl see what we gain additionally for 2019.

LOL. Noah is such an entitled bum. Knicks should make him pay up if he wants to play again in this league.

Judging by his comments, it seems Perry and/or Mills may have finally smartened up and realized that "stretch waiving" Noah accomplishes nothing........and would rather hold him hostage instead for the remainder of his contract.

You bastard. You got me again. And it's like I can't fail to look. I really have nothing to share about Noah until it happens but I must know the second it does.
