Mudiay isn't a lock to be here next season..........and I know damn well Fiz will be pushing Knox to play the 3 spot more.Mr3037 wrote:So if Kanter opts in as expected is our C rotation going to be something like Kanter/Robinson/Noah?
I think we didnt go with another wing as we are probably stuck with Lee & Timmy and Dotson needs mins too if we are going to find out if he's good enough.
Mudiay, Frank, Timmy, Knox, Kanter - Realistic starting lineup for this season?
I'd love to tell myself the Robinson pick is because we know Kanter is opting out but I doubt that
So NO, not a realistic starting lineup at all. If Frank STILL isn't ready to run point next season, then Burke & Timmy is our starting backcourt with Knox & "mystery PF" alongside Kanter (that SOB isn't turning down $20+ M for one more year)
Nah, we will likely play two point guards next season until KP comes back. Burke, Ntilikina, Hardaway, Knox, Kanter (unless he opts out) is a very realistic starting five for opening day. My guess: Knox will move to the 3 as a starter once KP returns with a PG going to the bench and Hardaway sliding into the 2. Doesn't really matter though, because Knox will play both forward positions anyway.big_j_NY wrote:

Agreed spree. The Knicks would be foolish to play Knox at the 3 with KP out. Do you guys want Lance thomas or luke kornet starting instead?

Not sure what you mean with catering. We certainly want to take advantage of KP playing the 4 and the 5, so of course we need some centers on the roster, right? With not being sure whether we commit to one of our centers on the roster long-term and having traded Hernangomez away, why not take a chance on Robinson? He is just a second-rounder, so we simply hope that he can be a rotation big, not the future starter.big_j_NY wrote:...
That's the only downside isn't it............it looks like the Knicks are catering to "KP's PF preference" unfortunately.
At least we're going QUICK........instead of getting more slow-footed Kanters and Wendell Carters.

I have read that Fizz thinks he can work some magic with Mudiay & unlock some of that potential everyone thought he had?
Anyway I'm fine with Burke starting but I think Frank has to start.
Give him those starter mins and fins out 1 way or another if he's good enough as right now the jury is out

I hope Frank and Mudiay get their chances before Lee.spree#8 wrote:BTW: as of now I probably should say that Lee starting instead of one of the point guards is also still a good bet unless/until he is traded.
Lee is old regime.

I still have hope, maybe ORL will take a pair of future second rounders, the ones we got in exchange for whg, to land Frazier?

Hope we are trying to buy a pick. Since JV is off the board, take a look at Gary Clark; old school competent combo forward, versatile, knows how to play. But if we're feelin lucky, he could be UDFA.

Theo Pinson and Bonzie Colson went UDFA, both good talents. BC reminds me of Boris Diaw, kinda raunchy, undersized but skilled with long arms, great motor.

Sources: Undrafted Arizona forward Allonzo Trier has agreed to a two-way contract with the New York Knicks.
