the type of guy I want to see KP next to...he can cover some 5's and 4's.

That's right when you have Tatum and Brown.. Not so much with Lee and THJ...

Of course it is. Also obviously we will bring in an athletic 3/4 in the future too, so we are not speaking about playing small at the 2 and 3 for 48 minutes a game. So far - when both play their usual minutes - we speak about 16-20 minutes tops that both are on the court together (at the start of halves and often at the end of the game), because you bring in a bigger guy once one of the starters sit. And that "both together" are not Lee and Hardaway in the long-term, but Hardaway and a younger, more athletic player. So you can bring in the best talent at whatever position.

Marc J. Spears

@MarcJSpearsESPN
The quiet Knicks have been getting a lot of interest in sharpshooting forward Doug McDermott.

Spree,look at the best squads and their is a big difference between their 2 and 3 with the exception of Toronto..

kawai,Durant,tatum(hayward),Lebron...Hardaway should be a 2..Its not like hes Jimmy Butler and we have Wiggins...

There is no excuse for Hardaway/Lee at the 3,especially with kanter in the middle

Lee is just a placeholder (might stay on as a solid vet off the bench), so you don't have to worry about him. It's clear that we bring another young wing in at some point - which is what I wrote. But you also don't have to worry about Hardaway at the three in general, because a) he has played it a lot in his four and a half years and b) guys like Durant, Tatum, Kawhi and LeBron often play the 4 in small lineups anyways. Nearly every guy in the league plays two positions and Hardaway's two are the 2 and the 3.

Lee is just another poor signing by PJax. that last year should've been a team option to coincide with Lance's contract. Same with Noah.
Guy was deluded into thinking age doesn't matter and has ruined this team for years to come.

Lee is one of those guys that will stay productive through his contract though. He is in tip top shape. He is available (and was at the deadline), but if we don't get something significant, he can as well be our veteran leader and stay on as long as he wants. Also not overpayed for his production, so it's fine to have him for now.

Spree,the difference is when Kawaii or Durant switch to the 4,they are a nightmare for opposing fours.

When Hardaway switched to the 3,he has to guard the likes of KD and Kawai and he has zero advantage..

He's a 2

He is playing the whole season at the 3 and doing fine. Relax. It's just a possibility, not a necessity that he keeps playing at the 3. Players don't play just one position.

Here his current 17-18 position chart: http://www.82games.com/1718/17NYK8.HTM#bypos
