Fair enough.
Idt Frank will ever be Donovan on offense either, but I think he will find a way to contribute. We'll see about that
To me, his defense is already worth a second contract

Draft assets

First: 9

Second: 37

Cash: $5.1M (to receive) | $4.7M (to send)

Cap-space breakdown

Cap space in New York will be based on two factors: the $18.6 million player option of Enes Kanter and the $36 million owed to Noah.

If Kanter returns and there is no resolution with Noah, New York will be right at the salary cap. This, in theory, could be a good problem to have for a team that is rebuilding and looking to have cap flexibility in 2019, not this summer with an at-best average free-agent class.

The decision on both will occur before July 1, giving the Knicks a clear direction on how to proceed in free agency.

The Knicks have two trade exceptions: $2.4 and $1.4 million.

Just for info: We have the 36th pick in the second round, not the 37th.

Off Season focus

Get Kanter off the books..Do not extend him..

Play the young guys, get a top 5 pick

Do not rush KP..

Play people at their "right" position, don't worry about the record...Build for the future

KOQ really turned the corner over the last half of the season. His passing and consistency were both much improved. He's probably a likelier candidate to go than Kanter. I don't think anyone will give him a contract that pays him 15 million per. Koq on the other hand will get offers for a higher contract.

The Noah situation looms over everything. He seems pretty content to spend his millions.

Yeah I can see Kanter staying and KOQ going. Look I will take 1 out of 2 than 0 out of 2.

As for Noah......the only chance we have of getting anything out of him/his deal is if Fizz can get some mins out of him.
0% chance of trading him, maybe he gets bought out as I am guessing we didnt do that because we knew Horny was gonna be fired and Perry etc are holding onto some chance Noah can still play.

I actually want Noah to play minutes with KP injured and Kyle most likely gone. He'll probably be terrible but it should be entertaining.

As expected. Makes sense for him after a very interesting season. He deserves a bigger check

Makes sense for KOQ... so it was almost a given... but it doesn't matter much for the knicks as I believe we are still right around the cap...

As expected. Now the question will be whether Kanter opts in as expected. Will update the OP right before free agency once we know...

I like Kanter and KOQ but even before KP went down they were not helping us win games. Would rather have cap space and a shot at some players suited to today's NBA.

I feel like each I dividually would be perfect as our backup on a team where we had a true stud at C. Whether that be KP with a good stretch 4 or KP and a true C. But you still need a third big and that's where either of those guys fit in. Kanter is just too expensive for that role and Oquinn (even with a raise aint so bad) is probably not in that same age plane of where our future is but I'd make it work.
